You can pay as you go per session @ £4 per session or pay monthly by cheque or cash. We also have an off peak morning rate of £2.10 including weekend mornings.
E.B.S.C. is operated by East Bergholt High School, it opened in July 1997 after the Gymnasium, Fitness Studio, Reception and Community changing rooms were constructed with funding obtained from various agencies including the National Lottery Sports Fund, Suffolk County Council, the High School and Babergh District Council. The Sports hall predates the opening of the sports centre, there are hard courts and grass pitches available for local people to hire. The Centre shares a manager with Hadleigh Leisure Centre for the two schools.
It is a dual-use Sports Centre, used predominantly by the High School during the day and by the local community, evenings, weekends and during School holidays, The Fitness Studio is available 8am - 1pm Monday, Thursday and Fridays. During School holidays the Sports Centre hosts or runs daytime activities for children.
In 2005 the Centre gained accreditation from the English Federation of Disability Sport's Inclusive Fitness Initiative. To gain accreditiation, a Centre must be accessible for all disabilities, should have equipment that both disabled and non-disabled can use and have disabled friendly policies.
The Sports Centre has received grants from Suffolk County Council and Babergh District Council to enable community use. Babergh District Council has provided grants towards projects for disabled people and GP referral.
