Fitness Studio

East Bergholt is one of the few centres where you can pay as you go or choose other options. We don't have a membership fee and do not demand annual or direct debit payments.

To use the Fitness studio, you must be over 14 years and be willing to book a one-off induction (£17.35) which will ensure you know how to use the equipment and give you advice on how to achieve whatever your goals are e.g. to loose weight, lower bood pressure or just improve general fitness; the cost includes two free sessions. Once you have completed your induction you will be given a voucher with 2 free workouts to get you going, then you decide whether to pay as you go or choose one of the other saver options.

In September 2005 the Centre became an accredited IFI site, which means that the centre has met standards to ensure that there are no barriers to access for people with any disability. Many new pieces of equipment have been added which can be used by disabled and non-disabled people. Information is provided in alternative formats, we are ready to accept calls from Type-talk, have tactile signs and a portable hearing induction loop. We are positive about disabled people and offer concessionary prices to disabled people and their carer/supporter for both induction and general usage. We have instructors that have been trained to YMCA level 2 and 3, some have recognised certificates to instruct people with a disability, on GP referral, or with dietary information. They can devise or revise customer programmes if needed.

The Fitness studio opening times are the same as the Centre's but we do not admit people less than 1 hour before closing.
